Talent Agency License Application Process
 
Please follow the three steps below to obtain a Talent Agency License. You may want to review the Information and Instructions Sheet prior to starting the application process.
 
1. Print and fill out the Request for Live Scan Services form and take it with you when you get fingerprinted at a Live Scan location.

2. If you do not have .pdf viewing software already installed on your pc then you will need to get Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the forms. You can download and install it by clicking on the link above.

3. Complete the license application online.

a) Create an online account. Click the First time user button to the right if this is your first time in the system. Otherwise, sign in with your user name and password.

b) Complete the online application. Be sure to save your application if you do not complete it in one sitting. You will be asked to upload copies of business documents while filling out your application. Please make sure you have scanned copies of those documents to your computer so when prompted you can upload them. (You will also need information from your completed Request for Live Scan Services form to complete the license application.)

c) Pay the fee online. There is a $225 license fee for the Main Office, a $50 fee for each additional Branch Office and a $25 Filing Fee, in addition to the cost for finger prints.

d) Submit the application online. Finish all the required information requested and submit.

Please allow 45 days to process the application. The Labor Commissioner‘s Office will notify you of your license status. If you have questions or concerns regarding Talent Agency Licensing, please contact use dlse.licensing@dir.ca.gov Depending on new or renewal applications there maybe other forms that you may be asked to upload in order to complete your application which are:

1) Workers Compensation Insurance documents.
2) Talent Agency Bond document.
3) Copies of your Fictitious Business Name Statements, if using DBA‘s.
4) Copy of your Articles of Organization, if company is an LLC.
5) Copy of your Articles of Incorporation if your company is a Corporation.
6) Copy of your Statement of Domestic Stock if your company is a Corporation.
7) Copy of your Premise Certification.
8) Copy of your Fees Schedule.
9) Copies of the contracts between the artist and your talent agency.
10) Business Tax Registration Certificate showing the residence address.
11) Statement of Information for Limited Liability
